Bob (called Chip by his foster mom) was rescued along with his litter mates from rural georgia. He was adopted as a cute tiny 8 week old puppy but returned about 2 weeks later due to behavioral issues. He was then adopted out again and returned 10 days later for behavioral problems. Although he is just 3 months old he has some challenges and we are looking for a adopter who has experience with large breed dogs and who will work with him. His furever home should not have children in it. He has been just fine with other dogs who are bigger and confident enought to correct him without being aggressive.

This is what his foster has to say about him:

We took Chip (Bob) for a walk on the Sanford lakefront Sunday morning.  I was surprised how well he walked.  Being little he didn't walk far, but a great first try.  He loves just lying in the grass.

The first picture I attached is from his car ride Saturday to my mom's.  He is so calm in the car. I hope he doesn't associate it with being dropped off.

He wants to be near someone.  I'm working from home right now and he lays near me or my daughter all the time.  He loves his little bed and toys.

Okay, so personality observations so far - he's become a snuggler, but it can quickly turn to playful biting.  The biting isn't as aggressive as it was the first day or so, but it's pretty intense and hard to distract him from it.  A friend suggested something they'd done, a couple pennies in a plastic bottle.  We shake it every time he bites us.  He does not like the sound!  It does stop him, but only for a bit.  When he gets wound up playing he'll bite pretty hard, and he doesn't care where.  Hands, feet, face, you name it.

He's found his voice, a bit of a barker.  It's sounds ferocious!  He does not like the crate.  Cries for quite some time at night.  He does eventually settle down, last night he slept for over 5 hours.  (I'm too old for this - lol)

He's doing good with potty training.  Still having some accidents but not as many.  He is very food driven.  We've been carrying treats with us when we walk him.  As soon as he goes he gets pets and praise and a small treat.  It's definitely working.

He was seriously food aggressive when he got here.  I think he was hungry.  Amoret said a cup+ for the day, half for breakfast and half for dinner.  Absolutely not enough food.  He's closer to two cups.  We are still feeding him a bit from our hands.  He's more gentle now, but still acts ravenous.

Recommendations -

No small kids.  I don't know if he'll ever stop biting.  He may need someone with more experience than us to break him of it.

On our walk, he was very vocal towards other dogs.  I don't know if he'd warm up and be ok.  I was not comfortable getting too close to see.  With the quarantine, I don't know where to take him to expose him to other dogs so you'd know.

Whoever gets Chip as their forever dog will need to be patient for sure.  But he's so cute and had quite the personality!
