Learn more about the Dachshund.
Gigi and Heathcliff have lived outside their whole lives. So it is taking them some time to get use to be inside, and they
are in the process of being house trained. Both of them have made excellent progress with very few accidents in the
house. Gigi and Heathcliff are crate trained, and have no issues being left alone. They are very timid and shy. But once
they take a break from lizard chasing they will cuddle and give kisses. They will just need some time to get use to being
with humans. They are dog and cat friendly. They like men, women and children. They do not have an aggressive bone
in their little bodies and for dachshunds they are as quite as a mouse. That's because they tend to ignore all people and
chase lizards. Gigi has never been on a leash and leash training has been a slow process. But, in reality, Gigi and Heathcliff
really just want a nice fenced yard to hunt lizards. They will chase lizards for hours and could care less about going for a walk.
Now, Gigi and Heathcliff are runners and if they get lose that will take off very quickly. But, they are the most entertaining
little pair of dogs. They tend to entertain themselves and you almost forget they are in the house.
So, if you think you can give these two little energetic mini dachshunds a forever home together ......please submit an
adoption application.
Both bonded dachshunds are heartworm positive (not shocked since they lived outside for a while). They have gotten the proheart 12 injectio (heartworm prevention for 1 year) and are started doxycycline for 30 days to complete there slow kill treatmen.
