Leah was found as a stray preganant. She gave birth outside a home and was kept there until her pups where old enough to make the jorney down to Florida. Leah is a small (18lbs) fiest/terrier/Chihuahua/ish type of mix. She very sweet, friendly and loving. She great with dogs, cats and kids. Below is what her foster had to say about her:

Leah is a young energenic happy dog. She living in my house, which has 2 other dogs (they are a bit older and gumpy and she really wants to play although mine will not), 3 cats and 2 kids ages 7 and 6. She is good with all dogs, cats and kids. She can be enthusiasic when trying to be playful with my cats and they dislike that and set her straight with a few swats to the face. She is very submissive to other dogs and cats. She loves my kids but is also enthusiasic with them and will jump on there laps and lick there faces even if they don't invite the attention. She is housebroken and has learned to use my dog doors in just under 1 weeks with very few accidents in the house. Leah loves her people and would like someone who home more often than gone. I am a stay at home mom and she fine crated for 1-3 hours when i leave but i return several times during the day and she happy to see me each time.  She enjoys walking with my other dogs but is very timid when it comes to new situations so her first walks with me where very slow and patient. She gets scared by cars or loud noises so she stops and sits alot on walks. She finds more confidence when another dog is around who shows her the way. I think she do excellent with another playful medium to smaller dog to engage with. Leah's new owners will need to be kind, loving, patient and attentive when she arrives but once she knows you and she bonds easily she will follow you around the house and lick you until you stop her. She is a lovely sweet girl who needs a great home!

Leah is heartworm positive and undergoing the slow kill method of treatment. She will have heartworm prevention adminstered for 1 year and will not need retesting for 1 year.
