Sabastian and his 16 year old companion where surrendered to a rural georgia shelter when there owner passed away. A rescue group pulled them but the older small chihuahua passed away within a few weeks of arrival from liver failure. Im sure the stress of being surrendered and living in a kennel was too much for the senior. Sabastian is a gentle giant. He loves people and other dogs. He gets long with other dogs young and old and although he a senior he has a certain pet in his step about life. He is a rather tall lab mix but might be mixed with a xlarge breed like a shephard or farm dog like a great pyrness. He has a wonderful temperment and although he suffers from arthiristis and some weaking in the hips he a happy fellow. This is what his foster has to say about him:

The two best ways to describe Sabastian is: love bug and Velcro dog. Sabastian loves to be loved on. He seeks out hugs, kisses, and reassurances. He also checks his people, licks them, and places his paw on you to let you know he cares. He is an incredibly sweet dog that needs others, which is why he’s a Velcro dog. He wants to be near you and if you go into another room, he will follow you. He likes to be right by my feet, including when I exercise which has made for some interesting situations!
Sabastian loves walks. He likes to go slow so he can sniff everything. Sabastian loves plushie toys. He loves to chew them apart! He is a bit of a picky eater. He needs broth on his food if you want him to finish his meal! He is selective on what snacks he will eat. I’m not sure that he had much exposure to different foods previously. He does love American cheese and Zoe Super Bars. 
Sabastian is slow to warm up because of the all the recent changes in his life, so he needs a patient and loving family. He loves kids; he brightens up when they are around! He interacts well with other dogs of all ages and temperaments. He is fascinated by cats. Sometimes he barks at my cats, like he wants to play. I don’t think he had much exposure to cats. He has never chased my cats. He is potty trained. We do not crate him during the day and he does fine.
Sabastian is a wonderful addition to any family. He deserves a loving home to take care of him during his golden years.
