Murphy is a true character. He’s so many things, it’s hard to only put it into a few words…prince, baby, diva, emotional, sassy, stinker, curmudgeon. He’s my little shadow. It’s evident that he has had some traumatizing events in his past. He is slowly seeing that we are here to love him and keep him safe. He’ll need patience from his forever family to continue to work past these bad experiences. He is terrified of leashes, so to allow him to come on walks with us, Murphy is either put in a pet stroller or in a pet sling. He prefers the pet sling because he likes being held. Murphy is selective about meals and treats. He takes treats very politely. He is getting better now that he knows he regularly gets meals. Murphy can be very playful with other dogs as well as his human. He enjoys romping around with dogs his size. Murphy is still learning about toys. Right now, he enjoys chewing sticks like Nylabone. He likes to roughhouse with me. Murphy does bark when he’s super excited and happy. Wait until he uses your stomach as his jumping base when you’re trying to fall asleep! So much fun!  He has black fur at the base of his tail. When he wags his tail, it looks like a white surrender flag is being waved. It's very cute! Murphy isn’t aggressive with cats, but he is fixated on them and would do best in a home without them. Murphy sleeps with us in the bed at night. He likes to be right next to you. He snuggles when you sit on the couch. He is potty trained. We put him in the crate, but he doesn’t like it and he certainly expresses his dislike of it. Murphy does bark to express his feelings to you. Murphy is a terrific dog and deserves a safe and loving home. Murphy would do best in a home with someone who works from home or mostly stays at home. Murphy would do well with a dog sibling. Please consider Murphy, he's a true gem of a dog!
