Retta and her siblings were rescued from a Good Samaritan who took in their stray mom only to find out later that she was pregnant. The Good Samaritan kept mom and pups together until they were old enough to be weaned and then surrendered the pups to us. In Retta case she was unknowingly given away to a friend before the litter was surrendered to us. And of course Retta was given back because they just didn't have the time...so here is poor Retta looking for a home at almost 6 months old! This ia whats her foster says about her:

Poor Retta came to us very skinny, not fixed, and overdue on her shots. She came very sweet but not housebroken and not too sure what to do with other dogs. It has only been a week and Miss Retta has come leaps and bounds! She has fattened up, gotten fixed, microchipped, and up to date on her shots. She has discovered that dogs can be really fun to play with and that cats will swat you if you don't leave them alone! Retta has learned that you get lots of praise when you potty outside. She still has an accident or two on occasion, but that is to be expected after only a week. She loves to play and will zoom all around the yard. She listens well and is very smart. Retta would love a family to call her own and will make any family glad to have her.
