Leo was rescued from a breeder who owned a ton of dogs. A volunteer with a local rescue convinced them to surrender some of the dogs based on the shear amount of animals they had. Leo is a purebreed pomeranian adult. Although well socialized with people and other dogs he was just one of the sea of dogs owned and was surrendered easily along with his son Marshall. Leo came to us terribly matted and infested with fleas and is heartworm positive. His vetting was all updated and he made his way down to our rescue in Florida to find a furever home. Leo has since had a fulll groom due to heavy matting and now looks like a baby lamb because he need a full shave to get the mats out! This is what his foster had to say about him:

Leo is sweet and very attached to humans.He Loves other animals. He is Well behaved with an open loving personalit. However, he has had almost no exposture to being i side a home and doesnt understand what he's suppose to do. He has accidents inside or on patio or sidewalk. He Doesn't know to go on grass. He Doesn't seem to like grass very much, especially if wet. I take him out to back yard in morning & he stands looking at me. I assumed he's used puppy pads all his life Or was kept in an outdoor pin with no grass.

Leo is up to date on all vaccines, neutered, and micrcchipped. He is heartworm positive and is undergoing the slow kill method of treatment. He has recieved a proheart 12 injection (which is heartworm prevetion for 12 months) and is taking oral antibiotic Doxycycline. He will not need to be retested for 1 year.
